One Flower A Day

I have seen my father sketching his ideas first thing in the morning like a kind of meditation regularly. He has always told me to just spend at least 30 mins drawing everyday  as a form of exercise. Even though I tried to follow his instructions, I never did it regularly.

From the time I came across Stefan G Bucher’s Daily monsters & Artist Keshav’s experiments with Krishna series,  I was inspired to start one such everyday project for myself. Its been 2 years since I had that thought but never got to do it.  In between, I came across DVD’s from Creative Catalyst Production  started subscribing to their news letters and I have even bought a few DVD’s that inspired me.  The weekly mails with amazing artists talking about their creative process and techniques inspire me to try new mediums and methods.
So, finally with all these inspirations, I started painting flowers as form of a prayer for the 10 day  hindu festival called Dussera / Navaraathri. Each flower offered to the presiding deity of the day.

I am happy to start this new page and am hoping to continue this venture exploring various of flowers I find around me every day.

What a lovely way of dedicating your art to divinity . Swamiji once told Vijayalakshmi kulaveerasingam acca, a vocal music teacher in KL who taught all of the 70s SFKL, to create music in her mind as a form of meditation. as a musician to use her talent to learn to meditate.

Hi an idea – I have to come up with a web site for cooking, could you also please draw , plants ,flowers and fruits of each of the veg and herbs and lentil variety we use in cooking. at least it will be an original and I am not infringing on copyright and there is a platform for your paintings.!!!
